This book tells the story of the early days of aviation in Saudi Arabia and the vision that the founder King of Saudi Arabia, King Abdulaziz Ibn Saud, had for the future of the Kingdom. Using color images, many of which have never been previously published from that era and current day photos. The book highlights the historic meeting between King Abdulaziz and President Franklin Delano Roosevelt in February of 1945, Roosevelt's gift of a DC-3 to the King and the story of how the aircraft came to Saudi Arabia along with the personal stories and photographs of the pilot who flew the aircraft for the King and the Royal Family. That pilot, Captain Joe Grant, turned 101 years old in the spring of 2009 and his vibrant memory offers a rare opportunity for a first hand account of the exceptional force King Abdulaziz was, the book includes a DVD of a documentary of Joe Grant and KSA.
